Santa Barbara Hotel

We are looking for a modestly priced hotel ($125 - $175 a night???) for a young couple in Santa Barbara at the end of June. We will be spending a lot of time sight-seeing, and do not anticipate spending much time at the hotel, so we just want something decent, but nice.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Holiday Inn Express 17 W Haley $145
Half block off State St (shopping and nightlife), 5 blocks to beach. Remodeled a few years ago. Great location. If you are not into the nightlife/club scene, ask for a room not facing State St.

Try the Franciscan Inn, it's on Bath Street a couple of blocks from the beach. It's a short walk to the wharf. It's very nice property for the price.

Another choice-Casa Del Mar, Bath and Mason streets-1 block from beach-across from Franciscan Inn. $145 and up- breakfast included, wine and cheese-around 4 pm in breakfast room. Hotel used to be a 1920's apartment building.
