san fransico restaurant

Glad this came up and that Stu is on the thread. Stu, is there or are there any restaurants in West Portal which you like? Our only real issue is with things that are still moving on the plate or staring back at us and sushi is not in any way of interest. Thanks very much.
We'd simply like to roll through the tunnel on Muni from our hotel and be "over there" where things are a bit quieter (and perhaps more boring but that's obviously subjective).

Roti for Indian food. We're dining at their San Mateo restaurant this coming Saturday.
Fresca for Peruvian food. They have 3 locations in The City. We have dined at their Noe Valley restaurant several times.

Hi kwar - sounds like we are looking for the same type of restaurants as you do.
We will be staying near Union Square and are looking for Californian or Mexican restaurants and places that are fun for us and our kids (age 18 - 24).
Nopa looks great, just the sort of thing I'm looking for.
I will look into the other recommendations on this thread.
Any other ideas?
