Trying to think of a name of a San Francisco restaurant

Can't for the life of me remember the name of a restaurant that we were at over a year ago. I'm thinking it was near the wharf but not sure. You picked how many courses you wanted,(prix fixe),food was the best that I had,and service was out of this world. They also had a course of just cheese,a whole large table labeled with little flags on each cheese. They also served for starters a very tiny and I do mean tiny bowl of soup,I guess you could say it probably was 2 tablespoons worth, but very good. I really would appreciate if someone knows the name,I know this is very broad info, but just thought I would ask. Thanks

the cheese course part does not sound familiar but otherwise it could be "La Folie" actually on upper Polk.

It sounds like Gary Danko, which serves a prix fixe menu and has a wonderful cheese presentation on a cart. The restaurant is located on the corner of Hyde and North Point, near the wharf. Check out the restaurant website at www.garydanko.com. That might help jog your memory. Gary Danko is my favorite restaurant, hands down, in SF.

Might want to post the query on chowhound.com. Lot of San Francisco foodies offering info and opinions over there.

Chowhound.com seems to be a very difficult site to navigate. There is no search engine. If you are looking for reviews on one or two particular restaurants in SF, you have to brouse thru thousands of threads.
