Hi bluestructure-

I'm heading to SF this weekend as well. But I'm not sure where you're getting the temp of 80F. I've been following the weather this past week on the weather channel, and today's high is only 70F. Looks like the whole weekend will be high mid-70s and low 60F.

Whether that's considered shorts weather, only you can decide. I'm definitely bringing jeans!

I don't know where you all are getting your weather reports, but our local weather persons are all predicting a very hot weekend - in the high 80's and low 90's. Some wind, so there's a fire hazard warning out.

Bring your shorts, by all means, but bring long pants and a windbreaker as well for the cool evenings.

If you are going to the ball game, bring your winter gear and a blanket.

SF and the Bay Area are going to be getting warmer starting Friday. That's about the only thing that the different weather reporting places agree on. They have SF getting anywhere from the mid 70's to the mid 80's. I'm sure it will be warmer than usual in the city. Be carefull when you look at the Bay Area weather. Just a few miles inland or up and down the coast and the temps can be 10 - 20 degrees warmer.

If it were me, I'd bring the shorts and a something with long sleeves too! Nights will get cooler.

Hey ET - I hope they are not going to
a ballgame - they'd have to go to
Atlanta!

It is strange indeed. My hotmail email account links to the weather channel, which I have bookmarked for SF weather. I just checked again, and their forcast is still saying HI 76F for Sat and 73F for Sunday. Either way, even if it gets into the 80s, it'll still be considerably cooler than where I'm now - Dallas!

Hello bluestructure,
Today in downtown San Francisco it is sunny, hot and dry. Forecasted high is 86, higher as you go further inland.
A cooldown is predicted for late tomorrow. In San Francisco a "cooldown" in weather can be quite dramatic - say 30 degrees or so. That means most likely, fog will start drifting in on Saturday evening and Sunday morning will be cloudy and cool. So don't plan on wearing shorts all weekend!

You will see more Capris then shorts in the streets. They are better for the weather changes.
