I think we would be well suited travel companions. I too love to read ahead and it only adds to the fun for me. I usually at least find a top 2 or 3 things I want to see somewhere and then I also like to "let the spirit move me!!" Hope your neck/back issues get resoved. I know how you feel about being as excited as they are; it is a great adventure to host foreign travelers and see your home through their eyes. When we pulled into our small, Americana town south of Minneapolis, the German teens in my backseat were exclaiming "the houses look just like in the movies!!" and so our adventure began.
