Well for me the best time to visit Vegas for me is in the Winter. Going this year the end of February but have been in most other months as well.

What does best mean to you and where you are coming from would be helpful info.

Sorry, should have been more clear. I mean weather wise. We're thinking of going to San Francisco for a few days and then fly to Vegas. I've been told that the weather in San Francisco is cool in the summer months, and I imagine Vegas is too hot...is sept/oct better?

We went to San Francisco last fall and the weather is cool. Beautiful but definitely jacket weather. We went to Las Vegas in October and we hit a cool weekend because it was rainy and cool. Usually, Las Vegas is nice all year. I think the fall is a great time to visit most anywhere but if you are looking for hot, don't go to either.

mama4-I don't get what you mean by not going to Las Vegas if you want hot. LV is very hot in the summer and warm in the spring and fall.

Early to mid October would be best weather wise for both. Price wise, probably pricey for both.

In Dec and Jan the average high is in the 50's. With Feb not being all that much warmer.

I think the fall has pretty nice weather in SF.

I live in the SF area and the city is the best in the fall, that is when all of the fog is gone and the weather is nice. Nice being in the 60s during the day.

For Vegas, I have been there in April, May and Oct and any of those months it is nice and not hot. We are going at the beginning of Feb this year.

I was in Vegas this past July and it was brutally hot! They had a record high this summer of over 120 degrees.

I've been there in October once and it was warm and pleasant. I was there in early March once and it was nice but a little chilly.

San Francisco is never too cold or too hot any time of year.

Thank you all for the input. We will most probably be going our Thanksgiving wk-end(Canada) mid-oct.
Any recommendations on hotels centrally located (2 adults) in San Francisco?
