Radisson is the only hotel right at the wharf...it used to be a Travelodge and has been modestly "upgraded" a bit. The Sheraton, Marriott and Best Western Tuscan Inn are pretty close to the Wharf and the old Columbus Motor Inn is popular with fodorites...two long blocks walk to the wharf.

We stayed at the Tuscan Inn a few years ago and enjoyed it. Although it carries the Best Western name, it is part of the Kimpton Group, whose hotels are usually well-managed,well-decorated, and well-maintained. Our room was a little small but very attractive, and we liked the location. Usually Kimpton hotels have small free wine receptions most evenings, which is a nice plus.

The Holiday Inn Express is popular. Have you checked www.tripadvisor.com?

Hi, We stayed last year at the Best Western Tuscan. It was great! The location is very convientient and the concierge enormously helpful. There is an on site restaurant but it didn't look like it was for us. We did better with breakfast around the corner at the I hop! Free wine tasting in the afternoon and free coffee and biscotti in the morning. We (myself, son age 14, daughter age 13) loved biking the Golden Gate bridge. The electric car looked really fun but was scary as it kept loosing power. I would skip that. CM
