I second the Plouf idea. That whole alley is like a little piece of Paris - down to the charming (if a little pushy) waiters on doorsteps trying to steer you into their restaurant. And it is en route to the North Beach where you can try some bar-hopping: Bix or Bubble Lounge for class, Kell's or 15 Romolo for noise.

I would also recommend Plouf and agree with bobludlow, the alley of restaurants is truly charming, hit the mark on the waitstaff too, (thoughts of mexico beaches came to mind with their pushiness). I was there in August and the evening was a bit chilly outside but they have outdoor heaters. We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental which was in walking distance to Plouf. Enjoy your trip!!

I will definately report on our tip when I return.
Quick question, any idea on the average price on a cab from the airport to the Financial District? Also on a sunday how much time should I allow to get from the FD to the airport?
thanks!
