I was thinking if they stayed at the Marriott in Coronado they could do the water taxi... big fun!
In the Gas Lamp-I would do the Hyatt - take the Pedi cabs downtown for a fun treat.. they have blankets in the winter

You guys are great. I love the choices. Frankly, if it were up to me, it would be La Jolla hands down. I was there about five years ago and fell in love. Of course, I also love the Del....

I like the Wyndham. Good location, nice common areas.

Checking rates in January and downtown SD are running around $300-400 for a 3.5* hotel..yikes!
It's still 8 months out but things fill up because of the conventions in town..
Might have to re-think the staying in the Gaslamp area..

Wow, I was able to get somewhat lower rates by calling the hotels directly, Dawn. I have a friend in SD who is going to see what he can arrange. Thanks for your help (still hoping for LJ)

I went on Expedia..
Going direct usually always produces better results..
