San diego -best place for sunset??

We will be leaving for San Diego next week. We love a great sunset and I'm also into amateur photography. Any recommendations of good places for a sunset?? Or to take sunset pictures, maybe with palm trees in the picture. Thanks for any suggestions!!

You'll get good sunset pictures from almost anywhere at the coast. Any beach, road with an uninterrupted view. There are plenty.

Palm trees are another thing, though. They're not native to San Diego and so why include them? Go to Torrey Pines Reserve and include a Torrey Pine.

I would go to Sunset Cliffs. It is the best place to see the sun set as the name implies.

Hi Tara..
Anywhere along the coast but to get the real gorgeous palm tree photos would be from La Jolla and on up..
I love Sunset Cliffs and it is in a town called Ocean Beach..it's in a time warp of sort but in a good way..
I like it alot better than PB..
It has been so hot here..
You are going to have so much fun.
What is your trip itinerary?
Keep us posted!

Check out Mount Soledad in between La Jolla and Pacific Beach. You have a 360 degree view of San Diego overlooking the shores of La Jolla.

my favorite place is sunset cliffs. pick up a picnic and enjoy a dinner during the sunset. no palm trees but if the tide is high, some great crashing waves. sunset cliffs blvd and santa cruz is a good intersection to head to. as mentioned, it is just by ocean beach.
other great spots is the top of black's beach, la jolla cove or torry pines state park.

I would go to the del Coronado Hotel and have a drink while watching the sunset through the palm trees that are between the bar and the beach. In fact, I DID that! Those pictures are far better than the ones I took of the sunset at La Jolla.

Hey, I'm headed to San Diego next week also! What are the odds, two of us headed there at the same time . . .

I'm going to Mt. Soledad because I don't know if the cross will still be there the next time I get out there. As for palm trees, we have plenty of those here in Florida so I might visit Torrey Pines, hadn't been there yet in my prior trips.

San Diego used to be mild this time of year, highs 77, lows 67. It's hotter this year I'm guessing?
