San Diego area advice

Am planning a trip in March to this area.

Will fly to San Diego. Have a condo for a few days each in Solana Beach and Rancho Bernardo.

Looking for a good place for another couple of days. Interested in sightseeing, golf, nice restaurants, scenic areas, etc. Nightlife, shopping not too important.

La Jolla? Del Mar? Coronado?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Why all the moving around? Yes, San Diego is spread out, but it's very easy to get around the county quickly, assuming you have a car. Having said that, if you want a third place to stay, of the ones you've listed I'd choose Coronado, as it's a little further south (although we're talking about a half hour drive from either Solana Beach or Rancho Bernardo, barring traffic).

Whatever you do, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay in San Diego. Say hi to the sea lions for me.

I'd choose Coronado too. It has a unique feel and there are a lot of great places to see on foot. It's also very close to downtown. Make sure to get over to Little Italy for lunch or dinner.

Bring something warm to wear. March can be a bit cold and wet.

Another vote for Coronado. We loved it and can't wait to go back.

If it's early March the weather could be iffy. You might want to take a drive to Palm Springs for those couple of days.

Thanks for all the responses so far.

Moving around so much because we are staying with family - don't want to overstay our welcome in either spot - and we also want some on our own.

Coronado certainly sounds like the spot. Thanks again - looking forward...
