San Diego

Great Site. My husband and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary on Nov. 27. Yep 40 years alright. We find that we will be in the States then and would really like to spend our anniversary in a nice cozy, hotel in San Diego. You know, hot tubs, fireplaces, near or on a beach. Not too much to ask you say? Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The Inn at Sunset Cliffs has a presidential suite that has a two-person jacuzzi spa tub and views of the Pacific ocean. We have stayed in one of their one-bedroom kitchen suites and will go back. Their are reviews at www.tripadvisor.com Take a look at www.innatsunsetcliffs.com

Do you know about the official San Diego tourist site www.sandiego.org Much good information here and if you see something you like come back for opinions.

I am curious where do you live and how long will you be in the States?

Hi, and thanks for all the great sites. Unfortunatley, some of the rooms were booked. But they sure looked wonderful. To answer Sandy's question, my husband and I are from Fanny Bay, Vancouver Island. B.C. We have a condo in Yuma where we spend our winters. This will be the first time we are heading down this early. Great, cuz we get to celebrate two Thanksgivings...
Has anybody stayed at Humphrey's Half Moon Inn & Suites in San Diego. It sounded like it could be alot of fun. Appreciate any information. Thanks eh!

sunset cliffs would be a great area to stay inn.
humphrey's is nice. it's a little older but not sure when they last made renovations. had family stay there about 10 years ago and they were very happy. nice pool area. on the marina. view of downtown and many restaurants in the area.
you might want to look into la jolla, del mar or laguna beach too.
glorietta bay hotel on coronado would be a possibility too.

If money is not an object I would stay at La Valencia in La Jolla. Close to beach, beautiful walks, great restaurants and shops. Eat at Georges at the Cove or the Marine Room. Very romantic. You can walk to everything, except a ten dollar cab ride to Marine Room. Fantastic views.
