Well, if they're anywhere in San Diego, Torrey Pines in La Jolla is a MUST PLAY!

It is a very nice hotel which was completely renovated earlier in the year. I was given a tour of it in the spring when I was looking at hotels to hold a ship's reunion in. Of the seven I looked at, it came in a close second.

Take a look at www.golfsandiego.com for detailed info about all San Diego county golf courses.

your hotel choice is just fine. very good location. if you can get on torry pines, definitly go. there are some very nice courses north east of san diego around rancho bernardo but they will be expensive.

Torrey Pines certainly is a must when playing Golf in the San Diego area. Do try to get on- it might mean getting up very early, though. I arrived at around 5.40 a.m., lined up my bag and went to get me some breakfast. But that was because I did not have a tee- time.
I also preferred the South Course over the North.
A little charming public course is the one on Coronado island. It was very resonably priced, too.
