San Antonio,Riverwalk too noisy?

We are thinking of the Drury or La Mansion, and a balcony riverview room. We're not night owls so I wonder if the riverside rooms are the right choice for us. Just how noisy will it be, and is it just on the balconies, or does the noise carry into the rooms? Thanks for any input.

Just came back from Drury, had 3rd fl room on Riverwalk side. Not very noisy, but they are 100 yds away from main traffic area.

Not to worry - SA has a strictly enforced noise ordinance that was taken into account when the clubs on the Riverwalk were being installed. btw, Of the two placsE, La Mansion is the much nicer property - one of the best.

Another question - Are the balconies at LaMasion private, or do they run the length of a few rooms? Thanks for your help.

The balconies at La Mansion Del Rio are private--also, La Mansion is located on a quiet stretch of the river.

Not all the balconies at La Mansion are "private" Some are shared with several rooms (although when looking at them from the street they appear to be private). You are apt to hear more noise from the neighboring balcony than from the street.

La Mansion is maybe not the most luxurious hotel on the river walk but diffinately has the most grand spanish styling. Very beautiful place. Hotels like the Hilton are dogs from the 70's.
