Salt Lake City - Interesting?

We have two days to kill in SLC - are there 2-3 sights you'd suggest? Any terrifc tours hotels might arrange? Advisable to rent a car? Other ideas of fun, interesting things to do to pass the time? HELP. Thank you!

Well, if you're already happily married, this might be a good time to take on a second wife!

Have any young nieces or cousins you'd like to start (another) family with?
Utah's the place to get it done.
The family that lays together stays together.

Can't go to SLC without seeing Temple Square. Would be like going to Washington, D.C. without seeing the Washington Monument and mall area.

Be sure and stop at Temple Square and ask some questions about whether Jesus is really God's son or not. They like that question in Mormon land.

You might like the Orin Hatch Federal Encroachment on Civil Liberties Tour. Very enlightening.

Utah is a wonderful state. The scenery is spectacular and the people are wonderful. You can make a two-day trip through some of the red rock country in the south (Arches, Moab, Canyonlands, Capital Reef, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Zions, etc.)

Park City is a nice day trip from SLC. There are several mountain loop trails like the Alpine Loop near American Fork. There is a cool cave up American Fork Canyon.

Downtown SLC is also very interesting. Despite the obnoxious posters here, we enjoyed Temple Square. It is very historic and we found it educational. Amazing what the early pioneers did to scratch a living out of a salt basin desert.
