Salt Lake City Experts-Any experience with Westminster College?
My high school senior is interested in doing a campus tour of Westminster College in Salt Lake City sometime this year. We are from the Boston area and have never been to Utah.
I recently read the Princeton Review ranks Westminster College as one of the nation’s best values for undergraduate education and Westminster was also named to Top Tier by US News & World Report College in addition to “Great Schools, Great Prices” list.
This sounds great on paper, however, I would like to hear from anyone who has had some personal experience with this college. He is interested in a business/marketing degree and yes, he loves to snowboard too! Thanks in advance!

Westminster is a highly regarded private College in Salt Lake. I understand they have smaller class sizes and offer a more personalized experience. Tuition is much higher than at the State schools, but I understand there are lots of scholarships available.
My former boss got her master's degree from Westminister (I believe in marketing) and was a mentor for undergrads. She thought highly of the school and her daughter now attends.

BarbaraS,
Thanks so much for posting!! Glad you could confirm what I've been reading about this college. It's now definitely on our list of colleges to visit! Can you recommend a hotel closeby? Thanks again!

Westminster is in Sugarhouse, which is a wonderful, older section of Salt Lake with lots of trees and homes and a great park. There are also lots of restaurants and shops, but not many hotels and none that I would recommend. However, Salt Lake is only 4 miles away and you have lots of great choices there. Try the Little America.

Thanks again BarbaraS! We are planning on doing a little skiing/snowboarding also, so should we stay in Park City or does it make more sense to stay in the downtown area? We will be going President's week which is probably a very busy time on the slopes.

Then I would stay in Park City. But you're right it will be busy. Deer Valley does limit the number of skiers, if you can afford it, you might want to stay there. Where ever you stay though, I would make reservations early. Good Luck. Let us know what you decide.
