Salt Lake area
Hi, my wife and I and 2 other couples (mid 30 to 40's range) will be traveling to the Salt lake City area in Mid-march to attend the men's NCAA basketball tournament 1st & 2nd rd games at the Huntsman center.
We have basically 2 free days to check out the sites. We are looking for a nice restaraunt, a good place to take in scenic beauty, and any must see sites on our free days.
Any suggestions??

Visit the Temple square. You'll get a guided tour by one of the Mormon volunteers. There's a fine restaurant nearby on the corner of W. and South Temple streets. Try to either go to a concert or a choir rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle choir. This is one of the best choirs in the whole world. Paul

You should spend one of your days up in the mountains. Park City has 3 ski resorts, the Utah Olympic Park (don't miss!) and lots of excellent restaurants and galleries. If you don't want to ski, you can go tubing, hot air ballooning, dog sledding, whatever!
Snowbird is also very nice. If the weather is nice the tram ride to the top of Hidden Peak offers fantastic views and they have several great restaurants. They also have a wonderful spa and roof top pool at the Cliff Hotel.
Sundance (Redford's place) is a bit further drive, but one of the most beautiful places in the world. Again, excellent restaurant, but reservations in advance are needed. Not much else as far as activities or shopping. Small place.
Hope this gives you some ideas!
