Whatever you do...don't be there from the 28th to the 31st..if you don't like crowds.

Salem around Halloween: crowded, overcommercialized, crowded, nowhere to sit down and eat, crowded, silly, crowded, boring, crowded, overpriced, and crowded. Spare yourself the trouble.

We were there about this time a couple of years ago and it wasn't bad at all. I suggest looking on another forum for advice on Salem, though. Lots of naysayers, but we had a blast!

Salem does not have much parking, even people who live there have to get a pass to park in front of their own homes. If you go by train, you can walk about 10 minutes to town, I can't comment on how crowded the psychics will be.
