Safe & Pet friendly hotel in Knoxville near I-75/I-40
I will be driving to DC from New Orleans for the Christmas holidays and am looking for a safe pet friendly hotel in Knoxville to stop for the night. I'm looking to stay below or right at the $100/night rate including any pet deposits.
I have two small poodles.
Any recommendations? I have looked at the Red Roof Inn on Advantage Pl., the Days Inn on Lovell Rd and the Holiday Inn on Kirby Rd. I don't know if this is an okay area to stay.
Thanks.

I fell in love with LaQuintas when I started traveling (for business) with my two schnauzers. www.lq.com
LaQuintas never charge a pet deposit.

Hi Starrs - Thanks for the suggestion. Have you stayed at the La Quinta on N. Peters Rd in Knoxville West? They have a good rate, I'm just wondering if it is a safe area. I've actually never driven through Knoxville before. I'm also looking for somewhere that would have a decent restaurant. I will be looking for a good meal after 9 hours of travelling.

To be honest, I'd stay in the 3rd one in the area - the one in Sevierville, TN. New rooms. Nicer of the 3 LaQuintas. 1.5 miles from the interstate. Nice area. I stayed in the area a couple of years ago. Lots of new construction in the area with restaurant choices but NOT the real traffic of the Pigeon Forge area.
It's where I'd stay.

Here are restaurant choices in that general area - from the hotel's website.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express the last time I was there. I don't think the LQ was there then - or i would have booked it.

If you have any time, take a little detour to go see Dolly!
Dollywood is not far away.
I was in the area to hear her charity concert at the Smokies stadium (right at the interstate). I hadn't stayed there before but it's a great location for overnight stays IF you have to jump right back on the interstate for a road trip or if you have time to go shopping at the outlets or time to play a little bit.
Enjoy your road trip!

The LaQuinta on Peters Road is in a safe area with lots of restaurants nearby, but I don't know what the condition of the hotel is. I agree with Starrs - go for the newer one in Sevierville. As far as your other choices - I wouldn't choose the Days Inn on Lovell Road. On at least 2 occasions in the past months an employee has used a master key to enter a room. The most recent time a girl was raped and then murdered. I am not familiar with the other 2 you mentioned.
