Sacramento horseback riding?

Hello all,

Any ideas of where I might be able to take horseback riding lessons, or guided trail rides while in the Sacramento area?

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

jacie, I haven't gone horseback riding in years but your question interested me so I looked in the yellow pages.

I have only lived in Vacaville 4 years (which is in the southern end of the Sacramento Valley) so was surprised to see the list of facilities:

4 Acres Ranch Ph 503-795-1535. Located 8251 Winters Rd., Winters (I-505 Allendale Exit).

Buckeye Ranch & Saddle Shop
Ph 707-678-3512
Located 7638 Meridian Rd., Vacaville (2 miles off of I-80. The provide English and well as Western riding lessons.

Oak Hills Ranch
Ph 530-796-3199
Located 20875 Country Rd.,79B Capay

Pine Trails Ranch
Ph 530-753-5310
Located 35270 Country Rd 31, Davis

Hopefully one of these firms will be what you had in mind. Wishing you "happy trails"!

Oh, Gibson Ranch, that brings back memories! I got a horse there called Dock (not an auspicious beginning) that would not stop eating grass my entire ride. Too funny.
