Royal Kahana Maui
I am trying to find out if the Royal Kahana is a good place to stay. IF anyone has stayed there before please comment. I have a garden studio booked. If you can suggest my other places to stay, please do.
I have not been to Maui for many years. ANy suggestions as to where to go would be helpful.
Thank you in advance!!

If you're renting from a private condo owner, it would depend on how nicely the owner has kept up the unit. Have you read reviews from others who've stayed in that particular unit?
I can highly recommend the Napili Sunset Resort which is about a mile away.

If you purchased through COSTCO, your unit will be managed by Outrigger. If you don't like the unit, asked to be moved. Outrigger is really good about making those accommodations when units are available. Outrigger studios are privately owned only managed by Outrigger and will range between what a would call 1.5 star with chipped tile old furniture and a basic kitchen area, all the way to an updated 3 star
While they are promising just a garden view, most studios have a ocean view. I think when people see the view, they forget how average some units are. Biggest negative is that its an older high rise built in the 70s if I remember. It was also the bargain condo that Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays built their business on. They would sell package air, the Royal Kahana and car for less than retail air
anyhow, like Debbie suggests Napili is a nicer low rise area and is worth paying more for, units are not much nicer but its a better feel. However Kahana is close and if you don't mind a short drive to Napili or Kapalua its a worthwhile compromise if you got a deal. I'm trying to remember the current beach condition there, as over the years its varied from a 80 ft beach to no beach at all
