Royal Hawaiian vs. Hyatt Regency

My family and I will making our third trip to Honolulu, Hawaii at the end August. During our previous two visits we have stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Therefore, I have been doing some research on Honolulu hotels and came across special offers at the Royal Hawaiian and the Hyatt. The price difference is about the same. I was just wondering if anybody could offer any feedback or recommendations if my family and I should try staying at the Royal Hawaiian versus the Hyatt Regency?

The Royal Hawaiian, hands down! It's got all that history, plus it's got the beach, and it's a lovely property. They Hyatt is just a Hyatt.

We always stay at the Hyatt too, However, I love the Royal Hawaiian grounds, Mai Tai bar, etc. Our friends stayed there, but only got a small garden view room, with no balcony. If you can afford the "new" wing with ocean view and balcony for the same price, I'd go for it.

The Hyatt is a nice hotel, the Royal Hawaiian is an experience. No contest!
