Room Help for FS Maui?

I am just about to book an oceanview or partial oceanview at the FS Maui for my honeymoon in August, but before I do, I wanted to know if anyone has an opinion as to whether it is worth it to pay the extra $100/night for the full oceanview. Its kind of a stretch at this point, put if the difference is substantial, I am inclined to do it.

Additionally, does anyone have a suggestion as to particular rooms or room blocks that have better views than others? Any advice on any tips or tricks to make the reservation? Thanks in advance!

Hi biker, be aware that ocean view is different than ocean front. Rather like a flight that is direct versus one that is nonstop.

If you want a real view of the ocean from your hotel room you need to make sure it is described as ocean front. Ocean view can mean anything including just seeing a peek of the ocean while standing at a window or at the corner of the rooms terrace. Best regards and congratulations on your wedding. May you both have a long and joyous life together.

Oh yes, I am definitely aware of that, but thanks for pointing it out.

Does anyone have any specific room information for the FS Maui or any booking tips before I make my reservation? Thanks!

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I would book the less expensive and pray for an upgrade. Many times when you check in and tell them you are on your honeymoon, the hotels upgrade you for free.

We booked a standard garden view room and were upgraded to a garden view suite without even asking.

All rooms pretty much have a view of the ocean EXCEPT the ones facing the back of the building. Though ours was "garden view," the ocean was really in FULL view.

Just double check that your room doesn't overlook the service road. Ours did and at times it was quite noisy and a bit smelly with the truck fumes.
