Romantic Honeymoon in Virginia?

Hi-
Friends are getting married end of August, and would like a romantic getaway, possibly at a quiet, romantic resort, but are on a budget. Will drive from Richmond, Virginia, and want to drive a maximum of 4 hours or so. Would like mountains.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Linda

I like the Peaks of Otter that are on the Skyline Drive near Roanoke. Great food, secluded, lovely view of mountains. Also Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria VA, www.gravesmountain.com

Either The Homestead in Virginia or The Greenbriar right over the West Virginia line. Both are gorgeous resorts with spas but I would give the edge to The Greenbriar.

Jordan Hollow Farm in Luray is a wonderful B&B with a fabulous restaurant. They have honeymoon suites with jacuzzis in a separate building. Also look at a B&B in Little Washington then go to the Inn at Little Washington for dinner.

GoTravel last time I checked Greenbriar wasn't BUDGET!

Linda8 what kind of $ are we talking here....budget $60/night or $200???

Boar's Head near Charlottesville is a nice option but not what I would consider budget!

Shenandoah Valley area would be a good bet for location. Lots of B&B's if they are into that type of lodging and possibly more budget minded.

Give us something more specific $ wise so we can head in the right direction.

Thinking of about $100 per night.
