Romantic Diner and Dancing

I am planning a romantic weekend in Portland, Oregon. Does anyone know of a formal restaurant that has "fancy" dancing? Any other recommendations for romantic destinations in Portland would be appreciated.

Fancy is not normally a word that goes with Portland But, if you are looking to spend a lot, you might try Lucier. If this were me though, I would opt for Fenouil instead. Very nice, very good good, great atmosphere, and exellent food. No reason to drop $$$ to impress at Lucier, IMO.

Sorry, didn't address the dancing part. I haven't seen that in years here. You might need to call around to see what you can find.

It's been about a year since I've been there, but it was incredible.

www.serratto.com the food is amazing. mmmm one of my favorites. (no dancing tho)

If I can think of any romantic spots, I'll let you know - but the restaurant is a winner, and it's certainly romantic (and has a full bar, not just wine, if you are looking for a cocktail)

I agree with Serratto. It is very good

Paley's would be another good, romantic spot. No dancing though.

Alexis. It is a Greek restaurant with exceptional food. We went years ago. I am not sure if they are still around. We had a memorable evening and still talk about the food and fun service.

I second the recommendations of mms.. Fenouil is wonderful, romantic and good food but no dancing.
Lucier is extremely expensive, not very busy and pretty but .....I would go to Fenouil.

Serratto is great, we used to go there often, then to the Cinema 21 on the same street.. but it isn't quite as romantic and formal as the others... I also agree with Paleys Place.

We liked Ten01 but I liked it better for lunch than dinner.
Don't let anyone tell you to go to the Portland City Grill... nice view, meat market atmosphere.

There are more.. let me think ...

Hi there! We had an amazing meal at Lucier down by the waterfront this summer, it is a very formal restaurant with outstanding food and service, very special! The last time we were in Portland this summer we stayed at the Benson and after our dinner at Andina (Peruvian food) we had our cab driver drop us off at Portland City Grill to admire the city lights, very romantic.

I hope you have a great time in Portland and Happy Thanksgiving! ***kim***

This is a suggestion for a place that I have not been too...but I heard some fun reviews of it last night. It might fit the bill.

It is a place called Tony Starlights. It's on Sandy Blvd around 37th or 39th. It is an "old school supper club". The couple that I spoke with, last night at one of my tastings, were headed there. They said that they have had a great time there before.

http://www.tonystarlight.com/index2.shtml

Apparently, they have a very professional "big band" and have local residents come up, get a little "schooling" on singing with the band and viola, they are on stage with the band.

Not sure if dancing is involved, but it sure sounds like the type of place that would have such dancing.

A cab from Andina to PCG? Why? It would have been a lovely walk..especially since Portland doesn't have cabs on every corner.
