Romantic Boston Hotels-XV Beacon,Millenium, Lenox or Wyndam in Boston
I am planning a romantic day/night with my husband in Boston and have narrowed the hotel stay down to the above. Any suggestions? I liked the fact that the room in XV Beacon came with a fireplace. I need to make my decison soon. Thanks for the help!

XV Beacon is owned by Arabs, I thought I would mention this in case it might play into your decision. I believe that there is scaffolding on the outside of the Lenox Hotel. Scratch the Wyndham on Tremont Street. I'd suggest either the Millennium (which is in the heart of the Quincy Market), the Lenox, or the new Ritz Hotel. If you're looking for a romantic area, then I would strongly suggest the Lenox, or else look into the Westin at Copley Place.

The Millenium. Great location, close to a bunch of dining options and entertainment in Fanueil Hall. Just imagine strolling through the North End after dinner and stopping at Mike's Pastry for dessert! The walk from the hotel to Downtown Crossing for shopping is easy. Stop along Milk Street for some gorgeous fresh cut flowers.

The Millenium Bostonian is a lovely hotel and very romantic but right next to the Big Dig. Might be a bit noisy.
May I suggest looking into the Elliot Suites. Its an older hotel that has undergone a recent renovation - all suites. Its located right on Commonwealth Ave so its location is nice (close to Public Gardens, Newbury St, Charles River,Fenway Park) plus it's in a real Boston neighborhood. Its restaurant Clio is fab.

Skip the hotels and stay at the Whittaker House B&B in the south end of Boston (that's NOT South Boston, but the quaint pictaresque area of Boston!!) Ask the owners about the room on the first floor with the fireplace. It's about $150/night with an incredible breakfast, nice owners who keep things private (i.e. they're not in your face), and the location is fantastic! You can walk to the back bay, newbury street, the beautiful south end, copley... They have a website at www.whitakerhouse.com (or maybe there's a "b&b" after the title) I only plug it because my husband and I had a fantastic time there and it's just so gorgeous! They even have a parking space in back for free if you ask!

Thank you for all your information. At this point I feel very torn as I like the modern look of the XV Beacon and just found another hotel...Nine Zero on Tremont Street. What do you think of that hotel and location? I read some negative posts on the Millenium; they all seem like they will have night time noise?

I just assisted with the financing at XV Beacon. It is owned by a group of Arabs. Possibly Charles needs to do some more research. Nine Zero on Tremont Street is relatively new, but there is a great deal of construction in that area. Have you considered the Four Seasons? The location is ideal, and it is most likely, the best hotel in Boston. I think you need to consider how much time you are going to spend in your room. I seem to recall that the rack rate at XV Beacon is close to $550 per night. I'm not sure what amenities are included.

FWIW, I don't think XV Beacon has king-sized beds.
The new Ritz-Carlton is OK, but nothing special. Not great neighborhood although not out of the way really. Not Arab-owned, as if that should matter, but Al Jezeera (sp), Saudi, Kuwait, and other Arab stations are offered on the room TVs
Wyndham is a business hotel. Decent but not romantic.
My vote would be for the re-furbished Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons.
