David, you'll have plenty of time to explore Crater Lake(North Entrance just opened), then follow the Rogue down hwy 62. Go Explore Ashland , spend the Night. Morning, get up and follow the Rogue. Grants Pass is a really fun town to shop and eat, and ride the Hellgate Excursion.

Then You can take the Galice forest service road-

Clear to Gold Beach, far above the Rogue, or you can take US 199 and stop for a Sausage at Taylor's in Cave Junction. You'll hit Redwoods at Jeb Smith right below the Ca, /Border.

Have done the Hellgate from Grant's Pass and the Jet Boats from Gold Beach, have to say I think the Jet Boats from Gold Beach are better, just because I prefer that part of the river for jetboating.
However, I agree with the person who said if you are interested in doing some whitewater rafting the Medford, Ashland are is much better for that. Also, Ashland is a much more interesting town to visit than Gold Beach - although Ashland doesn't have anything quite like TuTuTun Lodge (see my answer to your other post).

Well, the way I see it, it's not a direct route to GB from Bend, and a jetboat ride should not be the center of your experience, if your goal is the Redwoods. There are parks galore along the rogue, from Union Creek on down.
