roast beef dinner in Manhattan
Hi,
The question is simple. Where would you go for a roast beef dinner in Manhattan? My aunt has been without her bridge for quite some time and finally last week, she got her teeth! To celebrate, I want to take her somewhere this Easter weekend where she can indulge in her love of roast beef, something she's not been able to eat in a very long time. I tried typing in "roast beef" and "Manhattan" or "roast beef New York" on Google and I feel like I'm not getting anywhere. There's something called "roast beef Manhattan", a style of roast beef that I think is messing things up when I use search engines.
She's near 110th and Broadway, so hopefully something not too far away on-island. Any ideas?
Best wishes, Daniel

This place apparently has a delicious roast beef platter but you'd want to get it to go...they have four counter stools and that's it....

Finnegan's Wake Pub serves up a nice sliced sirloin, or an open-faced Roast-Beef n Gravy sandwich that hits the spot.

You should look for restaurants serving "prime rib."
Among many that have good reports; this is an old-fashioned cut that is enjoying newfound popularity, so there should be many options.

O'Lunney's Pub. ( a very nice and pretty space on W 50th near Times Square) has a fantastic and very traditional slow-roasted beef brisket, slow braised with root veggies, red wine, fresh herbs, topped with natural gravy, served with mashed potatoes and fresh veggie of the day. It is awesome, reasonable prices, and she will likely have leftovers.
O'Lunney's has very very good food. I had a lovely creamed carrot soup with ginger and orange in it on Friday night. It was soooo good. I went back last night and had another bowl of it.
A lot of people don't realize how very good Irish food can be. This place is a lesson in that. And it's a lovely, clean, large, high ceiling place to boot.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions. Speaking to my aunt, we've decided on Finnegan's Wake; I phoned and they are wheelchair accessible. She's so excited to be eating roast beef for the first time in years. Let's hope her bridgework holds
