Rhode Island Fourth of July trip

We are a couple, no children, planning a Saturday & Sunday Fourth of July visit to the Little Compton, Rhode Island area. Looking for inexpensive accommodations for Saturday night, and some regional photo opportunities, as well. Any suggestions?

You are very late and in any case everywhere will have 2 night minimum for that weekend.

4th of July, next week, one night, inexpensive? Really? I guess the photo opportunity would be the police flashlight glearing thru the windshield telling you you can't sleep here.

Photo ops are easy. You can pretty much stick the camera out the window and get a great picture anywhere between Padanaram, MA, and the Sakonnet River.

Getting a place to stay will be much tougher. You are going to be limited pretty much to a chain motel. There are a couple just to the east of the MA-24 intersection with I-195 near Fall River, there are certainly some in Providence, there may even be some in Middletown or Portsmouth, but you better get onto Hotels.com tonight.

This is one of the Three Big Weekends in New England, and Bristol, RI, has a famous Fourth of July parade that brings people from everywhere.

Padanaram, Westport Point, Adamsville, Westport, Tiverton, et al are linked by tiny, unmarked, extremely picturesque roads. Even with a GPS, you can get lost, but it's like getting lost in Venice -- it's part of the fun!

I hope you get to go!
