What a beautiful love story. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
The interment sounds so touching. I'm glad you and your brother were able to do this on such a special day.
Now, I'll have to go and get a kleenex!
Scarlett, I agree..... cmc's mom had the right idea. Let's keep on traveling and enjoying ourselves.

dearest cmcfong, tears are literally pouring out of my eyes. My parents were born in 1942. St. Theresa was my Confirmation Saint. The emotion I felt when I read this beauitful story of your family has moved me more than I can say.
May we all live this life to say that we once too were loved this way.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I am honored to call you friend. And for you and your brother... to be born of such love!
On a side note... Scarlett, I hope you see this because it truly moves me to bigger tears as I type these words that you sent me this link to cmcfong's thread. I might never have seen it otherwise. How can I thank you?

Wow, what a lovely, lovely story. So wonderful for you that you have had this opportunity to take care of your parents this one, last time. They would have been proud of you for your respect. You were able to do a great and memorable thing. It's something you'll be able to treasure for the rest of your life.
Count me in with the other weepers.

This is one moving trip report. I feel like I know your Mom & how sad she lost her husband so early. They produced 2 special people so they live on but now they're together.
I guess the chaplain was also moved by their story which sounds like a wonderful movie plot. Thanks for sharing this special trip.

Loved hearing the story about your family, cmcfong. I've only been to a couple funerals at Arlington, but they were very moving.
Had no idea those Kimpton Hotels even existed in Old Town, so was interested to read your reviews. I like Kimpton too. We've got several good ones in town (DC that is).

cmcfong, please accept my condolences on the recent passing of your mother. God bless her 90 years. (I'd love to hear about her trip to Epcot.)
This is such a beautiful love story of your parents. Thank you for sharing with us.

Oh, I just love true love!!! What a beautiful story to share with the future generations in your family. Make sure you press print on your post to store away in a bible, photo album, etc. to preserve.
And, if you haven't heard it yet, you'll have to listen to Trace Adkins song titled, Arlington. I'm sure you'll have a special appreciation for it (you can google it to see the music video). God Bless!

Glover, I think there are three Kimptons in Alexandria and one in Arlington. Morrison House, the Monaco and the Lorien are all Kimpton.
The Epcot trip was wild. She had us up and at the park by opening every day and insisted on staying for the laser show every night. We were exhausted...she was having a ball!
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and condolences. They are deeply gratifying.
