Reunion Weekend in SanFran and Wine Country
A group of college friends have reunited after about 20 years and are planning a weekend get-together in San Francisco the weekend of October 12-15. The group of 8 of us have rented a house in San Bruno, about 1 mile from the airport. Since we’re flying in from all different areas and arriving at varying times, we’ll be able to hand out at the house on Friday waiting for everyone to arrive.
On the Saturday, our plan is to head to wine country. We have a noon tour booked at Hanzell Winery in Sonoma then a 4pm tour at Quintessa in Rutherford. In between, I thought we could pick up lunch at the Oakville Grocery then head to Rutherford Hill to enjoy some of their wine and have a picnic there. (One of the group is in the restaurant business and booked the two winery tours through their business connections, so those wineries are a definite.)
As I’m not sure of driving times, I wondered if someone could offer some guidance as to how long it will take from SFO/San Bruno to Hanzell and then on to the Rutherford area and finally from Rutherford back to San Bruno. Basically, I’m trying to figure out if this plan is realistic and how long we should anticipate. Any information, suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

We were recently in Napa, and noted some smart groups had hired a limo or a town car to drive them around. A really great idea, so no one has to sacrifice and be the Designated Driver. You can all relax and enjoy the wine, without anyone worrying about the driving. It's a very smart way to go, as I said. There's also the wine train, and bus tours, too. For your group of 8, I'd think a limo would be a blast.

Thanks for your replies. I'm glad I asked about times as I was thinking it might take us 1.5 hours to Sonoma, not 2.5 hours. Kleroux, we will make sure to head out with plenty of time. We are currently checking into limos but wanted to figure out how many hours we would need if we do so, especially if we plan to have dinner there, too.
