Resturants in Seattle

We are staying at the Best Western Loyal Inn in Seattle for 4 nights in Sept.

Are there any cafes/diners within walking distance for breakfast?

I have been looking on goggle maps trying to get some bearings. Looks like if we walk down Bell Street to 1st and then turn Pikes Place Market is a few more blocks. Any guestimation of how far/long a walk that is? If we took a taxi instead what would be the cost?

Looking for a couple of resturants for dinner also. Not interested in Chinese, but anything else is fine. Something fun and ecletic. Not as pricey as the Space Needle.

Any recomendations for a fun bar for the older crowd?

The closest place for breakfast would be The Hurricane.
It may fill the bill if you are into funky joints.

You are about 1/2 mile for the heart of the retail core
and almost a mile from the Pike Place Market.

Is the Loyal Inn your only hotel option?

Walk a block and a half downhill to Westlake Avenue, cross the street, and you can choose from a couple of very good places in the 2200 Westlake complex - Tutta Bella pizza (really good), Seastar (seafood) and others, plus the cafe inside the Whole Foods market on the street level. At Westlake you can also catch the trolley that goes to the Westlake Center, right in the middle of a bunch of good restaurants, plus it's around a 5 min. walk from Westlake to the Pike market.

I read reviews on the Hurricane. I think that will be a little too scary for us.

Yes, the Loyal Inn is where we are staying. It's already booked and no cancellations accepted.

A mile is not too bad. My DH and I can do that fine, but we will be with my elderly parents, so will probably have to spring for a cab.

There are 106 pages of resturants on TA. I can't even fathom where to start. So far, we decided on the Seattle Savor Food Tour, the Space Needle and Sunday brunch at Salty's.

I note that your hotel serves a complimentary breakfast and that it is only a short walk to the downtown "ride free zone" for the bus.

Great. Can you tell me how that works or provide a web-site.

I forgot the hotel serve breakfast, but was looking to have one breakfast some where else.

Decided against Salty's for brunch for the Ivar's Salmon House instead.

I think your hotel location is fine. I think the suggestion of Whole Foods and the restaurants at that 2200 plaza are great.

Probably the closest restaurant is Brasserie Margeux, at the Warwick hotel on 4th & Lenora. It's a really sweet place serving all 3 meals. There's also a Top Pot Donut fairly close if you just want coffee and pastry. It's a cool spot.

I'd guestimate the walk from the hotel to the Market at about 15-25 mins. depending your walking speed.

The "free ride zone" is just that, the most central core of downtown Seattle you can step on & of any Metro bus for free. This is cut from Metro's website... "The Ride Free Area extends from the north at Battery St. to S. Jackson St. on the south, and east at 6th Avenue to the waterfront on the west."

welcome to our fair city, suze
