I would recommend Maria's new mexican kitchen. I believe the locals like this place as well..

Tomasitas......in an old train station? Food is excellent and it is EXTREMELY popular, so go early. A little noisy, but very good service, and as I said...the food it the BEST.

Just wanted to second the suggestion for Tomasitas. Had breakfast there. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but very good food at decent prices. On Cerrilos(?) Rd. if I remember. Must be an early morning Local hang-out, we caught bits and pieces of local conversation....."was that your picture in the paper yesterday? Nope, it was my brother. How's he doing?" sort of stuff.

We loved La Choza. A little off the beaten path--not at all touristy and very inexpensive. The food was terrific and authentic.

Another vote for Maria's. They had the best margaritas.

This is a vote for Pasqual's, about a block off the main square in town.
It's more NEW Mexican than Mexican (there is a fairly big difference, although they use some of the same ingredients) but it's fantastic food.
Always a line outside, especially at breakfast time. But it's worth the wait, I promise!
