Just South of Second City you will find plenty of restaurants. My personel favorate is Dinotto Ristorante at 215 W. North Ave. Great Italian food! Hong Kong Bay 1531 N. Wells for Chinese. O'Brien's 1528 N. Wells. It's an American restaurant.. not great/service is poor. And finally Bistrot Margot 1437 N. Wells. GREAT French. For more reviews on these places check out Metromix.com.

Adobo Grill is very good! It's definitely one of my favorites in the area. They're known for their fabulous guacamole, which is made right next to your table. My favorite thing to do there is to order a few appetizers instead of an entree. I happen to prefer the appetizers, and a combination of 2 will be just as filling and likely cheaper than an entree.

Also agree with Dinotto. Here are a couple more to consider:

Flat Top Grill (on North Ave. about 1-2 blocks west of Second City)

Orso's (another Italian place located @ roughly 1400 N Wells)

I would strongly suggest avoiding O'Brien's like the plague. That is unless you like bland, overpriced food, nursing-home style entertainment, and slow, disinterested service. I've eaten there more than once (shame on me!), and had consistently bad experiences.

Bistrot Margot has good food, but it can be extremely loud! Of course, it probably won't be loud if you go early.

Have fun!
