3 couples going to Aspen for 4 nights and looking for some good restaurants for dinner. Suggestions?

In Snowmass, Krabloonik's. Specializing in wild game, very expensive, but excellent! My visit was many years ago, but we had a great time and a fabulous meal.

The owners compete in the Iditarod and their sled dogs are right outside.

Jimmy's, if you like steak (you will need reservations); the bar at the Hotel Jerome for a more casual dinner; Blue Maize is also good for southwestern.

Definitely go to the Hotel Jerome for its ambiance. The bar for drinks, the restaurant for dinner/lunch/breakfast. It's our favorite place in Aspen. Are you staying in Aspen itself? I'd recommend it, because it's like nowhere else. The Gant is a great condo/hotel, located walking distance to Aspen town.

I thought Olives was surprisingly good, particularly if you're staying at the St. Regis. Takah Sushi had pretty good sushi, and was generally reasonably priced (and has a fairly nice ambiance). Matsuhisa I did not think was worth the price, and wasn't particularly efficient about service (I say this having been to the Nobu's in London, New York, California, Las Vegas, and Mykonos).

Lots of good eats in Aspen, but it can get pricey.

Jimmy's is excellent (we even shared a ribeye there - 26 ounces!!) and they not only split it in the kitchen, they served us both full portions of the side dishes, with no extra charge. Very nice atmosphere and excellent service. Popular bar out front.

BUT, my husband stayed longer than I did and said the steaks at Pinon were even better!

We loved Pacifica for seafood (the lobster was expensive but fabulous).

Mezzaluna is good but not go-out-of-your-way great.

Husband and his friends also love Kenichi (expensive sushi).

There's a barbecue place (Hickory House) as you drive into town from the northwest that is very popular. Food isn't worthy of discussion, but cheap, okay barbecue.

Little Annie's breakfast was very good. Local flavor. Didn't eat any other meals there.

There's a breakfast place across from the Hotel Jerome (cottagy looking place - not the bookstore) that everyone likes. Main Street Bakery is the name.

Campo d'Fiori is popular and "good+" according to my husband.

Regarding Mezzaluna, the calamari appetizer is great. It actually may be the best calamari I've had. In general, we liked the appetizers at Mezzaluna much more than the entrees.

I refuse to go to Jimmy's because the restaurant is cold and noisy, the food is cold, and I have gotten food poisoning more than once after eating there

Some of my favorite Aspen Restaurants are Kenichi for sushi, the cheese shop for a quick lunch panni, d19 for mod Italian, and the double dog for a beer and onion rings.... Find more great Aspen Restaurants at www.eataspen.com
