Restaurant suggestions for NYC

Girls weekend in NYC during Thanksgiving weekend and I was wondering about fondue and dim sum restaurants. Any suggestions? Favorites?

You could head to Artisnal for fondue.

http://www.artisanalbistro.com/

If you go to MenuPages, you'll also see a category for Dim Sum....easy to find a menu that appeals to you.

For dim sum you would want to head to Chinatown, or better yet, to Flushing in Queens..

For Dim Sum:

Jing Fong-a cavernous restaurant with few concessions to American tastes

Golden Unicorn-bustling with wide variety

Sweet n Tart
20 Mott
Unusual selection with table service rather than rolling carts.

You should go about 11 AM becuase Chinese families often eat earlier and these places get crowded espcecially Jing Fong and Golden Unicorn.

I do not like menu pages. Many will recommend Dim Sum Go Go which is not genuine and not very good.

Dim Sum, Chinatown Brasserie.

Fondue, http://www.montblancrestaurant.com/index.html or Artisanal.

If you want to go to Flushing try Jade Asian on 139. Filled with families.

My suggestion to use Menu Pages wasn't for reviews - it was for having access to a wide variety of menus so that the OP could peruse through them. I've personally never used Menu Pages for reviews (prefer this board, Chowhound, and Zagat), but I love having access to all the menus.

In Chinatown the best Dim Sum, IMHO, is Mandarin Court on Mott ST, it's my favorite and I think I've been to most of the restaurants in the area.

HSF on The Bowery is also very good and a local favorite. Service is very good and lots of unusual choices.

Have a GREAT time.

Thanks for all of the feedback. Artisinal sounds perfect for fondue. Now we just need to decide on where to go for dim sum from all the great suggestions.

artisenal is a GREAT suggestion for Fondue. Though not the most exciting area at night.
