Melissa, if you eat around Radio City you will likely pay top dollar for mediocre food & bad service. Between the throngs wanting to see the tree, Saks windows etc. it will be mobbed. I would strongly urge you to pick something a bit removed from Radio City.
The Redeye Grill is not too far (7th & 56th). If you want to do something "New Yorky" you could try the Water Club (30th & the East River) which has good food in a lovely setting. For a fun family time, Tony's Di Napoli, uptown on 2nd & 83rd is a boisterous Italian place.

Unfortunately, many restaurants do "special" (ie pricey) Christmas dinners. I think it's a bit early for them to have menus & prices set. The 21 Club is not far from Radio City, is quintessential NY. They have prix fixe dinners & lunches listed here.

Ben Bensons is a good steakhouse also near Radio City. They also have other things. Here's the menu.

I think you'd have to call these places & find out whether they'll be open for Xmas & whether they have a menu set yet.

Hi:
I just thought of something....Try 'CITE Grill' on 52nd between 6th and Broadway. They offer 'Wine Dinners' that I have used a few times for large groups. It matches 4 fine wines with a great choice of entree's. They keep the wine flowing and the food is pretty good. You can easily fit your price range. I am not sure about the children. Ask the resturant wwhat the policy is on the Wine Dinners.
Try posting this question at www.chowhound.com in the 'Manhattan section'. There are some serious 'Foodies' on that site that can give you some great ideas!

A great place would be Carmine's. It's Italian and they serve family style. Here is their website.
