Restaurant choices in San Francisco
I've narrowed down my list of San Francisco restaurants, for the most part, but am torn between Hyde Street Bistro & Allegro for the one night we still have free. I've read good things about both of them. Any thoughts? Cost may be the deciding factor. The prices are on the Hyde Street Bistro website, but haven't figured out what the prices are like at Allegro. Just like the look of it, but it always makes me a little nervous when there are no prices on the online menu
I turn 60 when we're in San Francisco, and we decided that deserved someplace special, so we've chosen Incanto for that night. Thanks to Stu Dudley

Sandypaws,
It's been a while since I've been to Hyde Street Bistro (always enjoyed it though) and haven't been to Allegro. If you are looking in the Hyde St. area, however, consider 1550 Hyde. I know they have a website and they are a favorite place of mine. Just a suggestion.
And happy 60th - I believe in celebrating birthdays before, during and after, so do it up!

I consider myself very knowlegable on SF restaurants (haven't been to all of them yet, but I'm trying!) and I've never heard of Allegro at all...I'm curious to see if anyone on this board has eaten there and can comment on it.
Also in the Russian Hill area is Frascati www.frascatisf.com. The food is wonderful - it is a neigborhood gem. Too bad it's so hard to park there!
I've heard that 1550 Hyde is good also (dovima's suggestion)
Check out the SF Bay Area board at chowhound.com for good recommendations. http://www.chowhound.com/california/...francisco.html

dovima & SanFranciscoNative,
Thanks for your suggestions! I'll check out 1550 Hyde and Frascati. I have been looking on chowhound.com, but it was for Chicago restaurants. I'll have to check out their San Francisco restaurants
Here is the website for Allegro Romano.
