Restaruants with a 12 year old

We are taking our 12 year old grandaughter to Las Vegas next week. We already have tickets for "age appropriate shows" and dinner one night.

I am looking for the following suggestions:

First night we are going to go downtown to have the Fremont Street experience. Any restaurants down in that area that are not $$$$$.

Second night we are seeing Blue Man group for the early 7:00 show and need a restaurant suggestion for after. We could just stay at the Venitian but most of these restaurants are very expensive.

We go to Vegas often and eat in all of the fine dining restaurants, but this is to be a more kid friendly experience.

Suggestions please.

Our 13 year old has been with us to Vegas several times. She is accustomed to eating in nice places and loves to eat wherever. If she has never eaten at a Cheesecake Factory, consider that as a good option. There are two deluxe Hamburger places. One is in Paris, the other is in Manadalay Bay. You can top your burger with anything from Lobster to Caviar. They have a chocolate Donut Burger for desert. Endless options of topping, cheeses, etc. I think the caviar burger is in the $60 range. But, of course, you don't have to get one that expensive. Any hibachi style Japanese place is usually pretty cool place for kids as well. Stratosphere is a very good dining experience. Some of the buffets are good and if you have a picky eater that is a good place to go. Paris and Luxor Buffets are two of our favorites. The desserts are lacking at both, but everything else is good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Instead of trekking to Mandalay Bay to eat at Cheesecake Factory, I'd just go to its upscale sister in The Venetian, Grande Luxe Cafe.

Excellent food.

Didn't know Mandalay Bay had a CCF. I was talking about the Hamburger place in Mandalay Bay. CCF is located in Forumn, the best I remember. Grand Luxe is a good option. They do not have near the variety of cheesecakes. Grand Lux shrimp scampi is very good.

If you haven't been before, be aware that the portions at CCF are massive. One appetizer and one entree usually feeds two easily.

Thanks everyone for the replies. We are seeing Mysteire at the Treasure Island one night and having dinner at their steak house which I am told is good.

I think the upscale restaurant at the Venitian is a good suggestion because we are going to see Blue Man Group there and it would be easy to just stay there for dinner.

I think the first night we are going to go to my favorite restaurant Andre's near downtown. I have been going there for over 20 years and it is wonderful. If you have never been try it. It is off the strip near downtpwn with gourment dining. Expenisive but worth it,.

You mentioned downtown restaurants. There is the Carson St Market at the Golden Nugget, Sandwich shop at the Golden Gate, Tony Roma's at the Fremont, and the buffet at the Main St Station. All of these require going through the main casino to get to them though, with the exception of the Carson St Market if you come in the side door. Personally I think the food at the Golden Nugget is very good. I once had to have emergency surgery just after arriving in Vegas and was stuck in my room for most of the trip. The Golden Nugget's room service & Carson Street Market were good. It's informal dining so would be fine for a 12 yr old.
