Rest. in NYC for large dinner party

I'm looking for a restaurant in the Village (or close to) to host a dinner party on a Thursday for about 40 people -- does anyone know of any?

Thanks

We had friends rent out all of Jule's (on St. Mark's Place) for a wedding reception. The food--French bistro--was excellent.

For moderately, family style priced Italian, Osso Buco does a nice job. For high end, il Buco has a private room for parties. I also think Lupa does. Do you want a private room, or just a section of a restaurant, or the entire restaurant?

Check the posts at http://www.chowhound.com/boards/manhat/manhat.html as this is not that an unusual question.

Good luck!

I've had great success with larger parties at Becco.
