RELOCATING d.c. / NEED ADVICE

Hi,

I juist gt a contract in Ron Reagan Bldg and would like to live in safe neighborhood, very close to a metro, close to a gym.
I can sublet, share or lease.

Contract may only be thrpough end Oct or may renew for a year.

What places should I search/ avoid?

The most important question is how much you want to spend on rent.

The RR building is on the Blue and Orange lines, and not that far from a Red Line station so it is easy to commute to.

You may want to search for housing on either Washington City Paper or (my preference) www.craiglist.org (DC board). Good luck - and welcome to DC!

Cost is the major factor, but also your extremely short timeframe. A lot of places won't rent to someone for such a short time, and people sharing may not want to bother, either, for a couple months. There are some apt. buildings that have monthly rentals but they charge more for that.

There are many places that could be suitable, and that is on a metro line so very convenient. I also recommend you look at Craig's List.

If you want options, Dupont Circle would be great, as well as the Penn Qtr area, or even Capitol Hill near one of the metro stops (Union Stn or Capitol South). Arlington would also be a good idea, or maybe Pentagon City for convenience. Just about any place on a metro line not too far out would be fine.

I found my short term rental on www.sublet.com. Cost was $40 I think.
