Red Velvet Cake in Los Angeles?

Over the Christmas period in The Lounge a number of people said they were having Red Velvet Cake as their special dessert. I googled it a couple of times (thought about making it - didn't) cause it sounded so very interesting.

Is there anywhere in LA, that you know of, where I could try some when I visit in March?

(I hope centralparkgirl from the Weight Watchers Warriors thread isn't reading this - seriously CPG I'm just going to LOOK at it!!!)

Sweet Lady Jane's on Melrose, and some Ralph's like the one on Olympic Blvd in Century City also carry some of the SLJ goodies.

I absolutely detest Red Velvet Cake. Can't bring myself to put that red stuff in my mouth.

Is Melrose in the general vicinity of the Chinese Theatre and/or Rodeo Drive?

Sweet Lady Jane's and Graumann's Chinese Theater are both on Google Maps (or at least the Hollywood Walk of Fame is). They're about 3 miles apart. Same for Rodeo Drive, in the other direction.

Or make your own with a Duncan Hines cake mix.

I'm a huge fan of Auntie Em's red velvet cupcakes, in Eagle Rock, near Occidental College.

Sweet Lady Jane is in a part of LA past Beverly Hills, but here is the website that gives details on menu and location.

This is another bakery/cafe that also serves wonderful cakes, including Red Velvet.

I don't normally like chain restaurants, however, The Cheesecake Factory has a really good Red Velvet Cheesecake.
There is also a Bobby Flay Throwdown about Red Velvet Cake.

Red Velvet Cake seems to be the flavor du jour. Most of the cup cake places like Dots have it.
