Recommendations for LAX shuttle?

I'm trying to get recommendations for a reliable (and hopefully not too expensive)shuttle service to LAX. There will be two passengers (my husband and myself) and we'll be leaving from the Pasadena area.

I've taken SuperShuttle to/from LAX several times with no problems.

We used to uses Super Shuttle, but for the past year or so we have been using a driver and a Town car. From Pasadena to LAX he charges about what the shuttle costs for two people, I mean within a few dollars. A round trip is less than $200. I can't remember the exact rate. You are the only passenger, no other stops like the shuttle makes. He is very reliable and nothing beats knowing he is there, waiting in the baggage claim to help you out when you return from a long flight. I get his contact info to you if you are interested.

The airport bus picks up at several Pasadena Hotels (Westin, Sheraton, Hilton) and after the last Pasadena stop goes express to LAX.

We had always used Super Shuttle or a private town car service but recently used a company called American Eagle Sedan Services and they were great. They pick you up in a new van or a Town Car and you are the only passengers. The price was very near the Super Shuttle price and you didn't have to drive all over town. The drivers are very professional and we were totally satisfied. We are out of town now and we will be having them pick us up when we arrive back at LAX. Their number is 1-877-91 Eagle.

shuttles are a great and economical way for ONE person who has the time (to stop and pickup/dropoff other passengers) to get to and from the airport.

however, when you factor in two people, the extra cost on a shuttle at least breaks even and often exceeds the cost of car service or a plain old taxicab that will take you straight from point a to b - exclusively.

I took Cali's suggestion for American Eagle Sedan services and was very happy with service provided. Thank you "Cali".
I now recommend them too.

This thread is a little old so thought I'd ask for updated recommmendations for one-way airport shuttle from Orange County hotel to LAX - Supershuttle, Primetime, Xpress - these all pop up in various forums. Any strong opinions one over the other, for a party of 3?
Thanks.

I would avoid Primetime. I actually had to tap on the driver's windshield to wake him up (I must have been the first pickup). Vans are old and dirty, and they were banned from LAX for a while due to insurance issues.

We rent a car from the local Avis or Hertz with drop-off at LAX. You don't have to worry that the shuttle doesn't show up. Also, friends of ours had a break-in while away. Don't forget that when these shuttles pick you up at your home, you are basically telling a total stranger that your home will be empty for awhile.

I've read some other negative things about Primetime, so I think we'll stick with Supershuttle. And we don't have to worry about our home being unoccupied - we are leaving from a hotel near Anaheim back to LAX for a trip to Vancouver. But thanks for the tip.
