Thrifty car rental: is it good?

Hi,

I will be going to CA in a couple of months and found that Thrifty rates are WAY cheaper than major companies like Hertz or Avis. Should I go for it or should I pay extra for Hertz or Avis? Even though they charge a dropoff fee for picking up the car in San Francisco and returning it in San Diego, it is well worth it because I got a quote from the internet as low as $89.99/week in CA? Any advice? Thanks in advance for all replies.

They are a major rental company. They are fine.

Book it at the cheap rate online, but to avoid any nasty surprises you should call Thrifty and review the booking, drop off fees, etc...
Just a precaution.

i've never had a problem, thrifty, dollar, budget, as well as avis and alamo have all worked exactly the same, no hassles etc. definately book on line with the best rates, also if you belong to aaa or a price club like sams bj's costco, you may get additional discounts. look for coupons or call and ask.
