Reasonable Hotel in SoBe?

Hi,

I will be in SoBe for 3 nights in mid May and am trying to find a hotel to stay in that's in a place where I can walk to restaurants, beach, shopping, and nightlife as I won't have a car. I don't need anything super fancy, just clean, safe, and with no bugs. Does anyone have any advice about someplace to stay that is in the right area but not $200.00 per night? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I stayed at the South Seas for less than that. My room was oceanview (few are), they have a nice pool, it's on the beach and they have a poolside bar with light food. They also offer free breakfast.

What hotel did you stay at?

I really need to know the names of hotels that are walking distance to shopping, good clubs etc. I have never been to SoBe so I have no idea. Thanks!

Was it walking distance to shopping and nice clubs?

Do you or anyone else know of any other ones? I'd like to have a few to look at to compare prices, etc.

Thanks!

EVERYTHING in South Beach is within walking distance to restaurants, beach, shopping and nightlife. It's a very small geographic area with a very high concentration of those things.

May is the end of the High Season for most hotels, so rates may stay high. Some reasonable choices:

-- South Seas (good idea, lisettemac!)
-- Cardozo (my favorite)
-- Winterhaven (a friend stayed there and loves it)
-- Park Central (my first South Beach hotel, quite nice)
-- Blue Moon

You won't need a car, so relax-- it's all a short walk or cab ride away!
