Ramseys Diner - Lexington, KY

Anybody familiar with Ramseys Diner(s) in Lexington, KY? Recommend it or not? Any particular food item they are noted for? Saw it advertised in a travel guide, but was wondering what "real" people thought about it as a place for a visitor to dine.

Hi Bill,
I live in Lexington and have eaten at Ramsey's many times. It is a locally owned restaurant. The owner has 4 thoroughout Lexington. The food/atmosphere is very casual. Traditional Kentucky fare such as the Hot Brown is served. Most meals come with several choices of vegetables. If you are looking for comfort food and not a 5 star dining experience, this is a good place. For a more upscale meal with a Kentucky flare, I can recommend The Homestead restaurant or Merrick Inn.

Bill, I too hail from Lexington. Try Ramseys--go to the one on High St.
Chicken livers are what they were known for, along with mashed potatoes, cornbread, etc.
If you are in town, give it a shot.

I also live in Lexington and love Ramseys. The one on High and Woodland is the one to go to. I love their breakfast served all day or night. My wife really loves their fried green tomatoes.

Enjoy.
