Is there a convenient place to shower in or near RDU?

Seems to be only for crew members. Can you search for nearby motels on Hotwire, for example. They give that kind of info (close to airport, that is).

If you can wait a couple of years, there ARE supposed to be showers at RDU, but...

Think you are, as Gretchen said, best off looking for a bargain motel -- there are several along I-40 near the airport (none actually IN the airport, though). You might even ask at the pricier ones (e.g., Hilton, Sheraton) if they have a "day rate".

Do you have a YMCA membership? You could go to the Albert Finley Y in North Raleigh, and get yourself together there.
