Need help in getting from Philidelphia Airport to Atlantic City

A neighbor just asked me to help her find a good fare to get her from SFO to Atlantic City to see her dying mom. I secured a great fare to PHL. Renting a car is not her first choice. Does anyone know of a shuttle of other inexpensive way? Your help would be appreciated.

You have to take a cab but why not call the airport?

xxx-Thanks for your response. I was lucky to find her a fare that fit her needs for $280 rt SFO-PHL. I didn't think any airline would beat that. BTY, I got the fare from Orbitz. While I'm back on, does anyone know the distance and time from PHL to Atlantic City by either bus shuttle or train. I haven't had time to do much research for her. Thanks.

There is a train from Philly, but not sure from the airport. Atlantic City is only about an hour by car from the airport.
You might want to try New Jersey Transit for info. Also, there are tons of casino busses that go for almost free!Call the casinos

Rapid Rover is one shuttle service that provides transportation from PHL to Atlantic City. Phone 856-428-1500.

Or consult the PHL website for the number of the ground transportation desk to see if they can suggest other options.

T's idea about checking with the casinos is a good one! They must know all the ways to get people to town!

Take the "R1" SEPTA rail line from the airport to 30th Street Station in Philly. Then take the NJT train to Atlantic city. It will take more time than other shuttles, but be less expensive. Prayers to your neigbor.

There is also connecting air service. It's a 60 mile trip. That train trip would take about 3.5 hours as it is not direct! Also, consider casino busses which are essentially free.

Can you ride the casino busses even if you aren't staying at the casino?

Yes, you can ride the casino busses without staying at the hotel...I do it all the time and it's perfectly legit. They also give you a coupon for a roll of coins. The theory is that they'll clear you out of all of your cash by depositing you right into the belly of the beast.

Where are the casino busses located? I'm not familiar with PHL?

Thanks!

Try this:

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/casinos/pages/bustrips.html

"Look here for a list of links and phone numbers that will help you book your transportation to the Atlantic City casino of your choice. Special packages, casino coin bonuses, and/or rebates are common."
