I stayed there in April. It's just been renovated and is beautiful. Rooms were $125/nite then, probably higher now since we're getting into "season." The rooms are nice. Ask for oceanside if you stay there. It's a little off the beaten path at 67th and Collins Ave., north of the main hub of activity on South Beach, but a very nice place to stay.

I haven t been inside of the Deauville lately , although I drive in front of it everyday , sorry to tell you that the location is not good.
Granted it is on the ocean and that is good but the area is not nice.
Try to stay either in the Ball Harbor area like at the Sheraton Ball Harbor or in South Beach.

Parrot Mom,
The Deauville is NOT in a bad area. Nobody who really lives here would say it's in a bad area. It's located in the north part of the beach. Not in the center of activity, but if cost is a factor I'd rather stay at the Deauville and take a short cab ride back to the strip on South Beach.
The Sheraton Bal Harbor takes you off the beach completely and costs much more than the Deauville. I wouldn't stay there unless I planned to spend my vacation shopping in Bal Harbor.
Don't get fooled by the idea that you must stay "in" South Beach. There are plenty of nice hotels outside of that radius (Fountainbleu Hilton, Eden Roc, Deauville, etc.) For the money, I'd stay at the Deauville again in a heartbeat.

Helloooo...are we talking about the
Ramada Resort Deauville at 6701 Collins?
If we are that area is not nice in my opinion , not nice at all, I understand
Sabrina might have had a good time there, but that area is one of the worst looking areas of Collins Ave.
The Fontainbleau Hilton and nearby hotels are in a completly different area some 37 blocks South of the Deauville, that is a nice area.
But for those coming to Miami Beach for only one or two nights South Beach in my opinion is by far the best choice.
( there are dozens of hotels)
There when you come out of your hotel and you are in the mist of everything.
Great boutique shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, and cafes. Streets are full with people . It is alive. Sit on a table at the News Cafe and watch the people go by...
In the Ramada you come out and what do you find? ... a few places where you can eat something unexpensively and some neighborhood stores .... this is not what I look for when I travel...
Everybody is entitled to an opinion so if this ok with Sabrina good for her.
I live here and tried to be helpful. Have a nice stay in Miami...

Sorry I made a misstake the Fontainbleau
Hilton is on Collins Avenue 23 blocks South of the Deauville.
The Sheraton BallHarbour is a completly different area too ( aprox.20 blocks North of the Deauville),in my opinion this is a good choice for those who love the beach, the beach full of palm tress is lovely,
tennis, ...and enjoy eating and shopping either in plush Ball Harbor Mall or in the quaint shopping area of Surfside, where there are quite a few charming Italian, French,Japanese, American, ...restaurants and cafes,
an old Drugstore offering good American Breakfasts,.. and a lot of nice little shops. The area is safe, not expensive, ...but again coming to Miami for 1 or 2 of nights I would choose South Beach.
