Questions about trip to Denver...
I will be in Denver for a short business trip, and decided to add a few days for some relaxation and sightseeing. ( I am a female who will be there alone).
One of my plans is to go to a hockey game at the Pepsi Center. I was wondering about what sort of transportation I should use to get there and back? I am staying at the Hotel Monaco....is the Pepsi Center walkable? If so, about how far is it?
Also, I would not want to walk back....so are there taxis around the arena after the game? Or do you need to call for one? How about public transportation and shuttle buses?
The game will start at 6:30 on a Saturday, and probably end around 9-9:30.
Also, I was thinking of taking the RTD into the city from the airport. What stop is closest to the Monaco? And finally, my flight out of town is at 10:00 a.m., so I will probably need to leave fairly early (by 7:00) to get to the airport by 8:00. What is the best means of transportation to airport at that time of morning?
Thanks for all your help, you can never be too careful alone in a new city. (Sorry so long).

Hi Elizabeth
I took my son to Denver at Christmas last year for a hockey game. We stayed downtown at the Westin Tabor Centre. We walked to the Pepsi Centre, I think it only took about 15 minutes and then took a taxi back after the game. There was no wait for a taxi, we just walked outside and got in one.
We took the Super Shuttle from the airport to our hotel and then again back to the airport. I think it cost us 24.00 each way. I would highly recommend this as they have a counter & pickup lane at the airport and pickup from all the major hotels downtown.

There are lots of shuttles into Denver. Your hotel may have one. We fly in and out of Denver a LOT. Their security is among the most lengthy in our experience. If you can travel with only a very small carryon--like none to a pocketbook--it will save you a lot of time. Otherwise, allow ample time to go through security.
Monaco to the Pepsi Center will be a short taxi ride. Not sure about walking.
Talk to your hotel about transportation.
